She has worked in this field for 19 years with RRCSB, and has been a sponsored residential provider with Wall Residences since July 2015. Carmen currently supports one female individual and would like to support another individual in her home. This individual would have her own bedroom that he or she could decorate as they like.

 

Carmen has one grown daughter, and two grandsons ages two and 10. She also has a 14-year-old mixed breed dog name Chico.

Christine Carter Mcmakin lives in a one-level home with three bedrooms, two full baths and a front and big back yard for relaxation, cookouts or social gatherings. She is a very caring person who loves attending activities in the community such as church, bowling, social events, shopping and other activities as well. Christine has over 20 years’ experiences with RRCBS and has been a sponsored residential provider for five years with Wall Residences. She currently supports one female individual and would like to support another in her home. The individual would have their own private bedroom that they can decorate as they desire.

Mike and Lisa Rose live in a wooded area of Rhoadesville. Far from a main road, their home is perfect for someone who is looking for a tranquil setting. The two story house is spacious; an individual who selects this home will have a private bedroom with a shared bathroom. The landscaping is beautiful and there is access to a pond. Shopping and other recreational activities are available in both Fredericksburg and Charlottesville as the home is centrally located to both cities. The closest hospital is in Culpeper. There is one small dog in the house and a cat who lives outdoors.

 

The Roses are very involved in their church (non-denominational) and hope that any individual choosing their service would also want to participate. Their grown children and their families live in the area; one son and his wife are also Sponsored Providers with Wall Residences. They like to do things as a family often. The Roses travel frequently and go to the beach in North Carolina throughout the year. They like to be physically active and go to the gym and enjoy swimming on a regular basis.

 

Mike and Lisa have been valued Wall Residences Sponsored Residential Providers since 2009. They currently provide services to one man, so a male individual is preferred. An individual who is spontaneous would enjoy this home. An interested individual should be able to toilet using a restroom and because of the stairs, have minimal ambulation difficulties.

 

This home is in the Rappahannock-Rapidan CSB catchment area.

Jeannette Beyinte lives in a two-level house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms in Culpeper County. The house has a large backyard for barbecues, relaxation and gardening. She has lived in the neighborhood for the past three years.

 

Jeannette is married and has grown children. She likes gospel music, is involved in church, and speaks three languages. She has worked as a direct support caregiver for nine years in group homes, assisted living facilities, and day programs.

 

An individual who chooses Jeanette’s service will have their own bedroom. She seeks to empower individuals to achieve their goals and highest quality of life while providing supports for all areas of needs including community involvement, visits with family, help with personal care, independent living skills, and health and medical needs.

 

Erin Quinn - Culpeper

Erin Quinn lives with her two caring sons (ages 12 and 15) in a beautiful five-bedroom, four-bathroom home in the quaint town of Culpeper. The home is equipped with a large kitchen with eat in dining, family area, formal dining, formal sitting and a spacious walkout basement with a bathroom.

The available private bedroom, located upstairs, is a good-sized room with a closet and an attached ensuite equipped with a full tub/shower.

 

Erin has been a sponsored residential provider with Wall Residences since 2010 and she currently supports one gentleman in her home. She is a caring and intelligent person who is an excellent advocate for individuals who are unable to advocate for themselves. Erin would like to support another male or female individual and is open to an individual who attends day support or goes to work. Erin is very good about setting up opportunities for visitation with family and friends if that is important to the individual. Erin also exhibits great care when working with an individual toward meeting goals and other items of importance for the individual.

 

The home is centrally located to grocery stores, shops, a gym and the library. Erin enjoys spending her free time coaching Special Olympics basketball and being active, cooking, and spending time with her family. The family likes to eat out, shop, go to the gym and library, attend sporting events, and travel to outside locations for events and vacations.

Each individual has access to a variety of community based activities such as bowling league, and outdoor activities including basketball and ATV riding. Each individual is supported to choose activities of their preference as they become more familiar with their new community.

She provides a service which promotes an active lifestyle with caring, well-trained staff that assist with community integration, personal care, domestic skills, and transportation to medical appointments and other activities.

This charming home, located in the Hunters Lane Subdivision in Blairs, Virginia is nestled on 23.6 acres of beautiful land in a tranquil, serene area. Boasting a screened- in gazebo, beautiful front and back porch, and its own private park area, this 3550 sq.ft., six- bedroom home also features three baths, an open floor plan, spacious great room, and is wheelchair accessible. It has easy highway access and is conveniently located ten minutes outside of the city of Danville, VA where there are many activities in which to participate, such as shopping, restaurants, movies and other fun-filled venues.

 

Provider, Rita Childress has extensive experience working with individuals with Intellectual disabilities and offers a wealth of knowledge in ensuring that they reach their goals, as well as become an active part of the community.

 

Sherrie & Garry Foye   -  Danville

Sherrie and Garry Foye reside in a three bedroom, two and a half bath home in Pittsylvania County, only ten minutes from the City of Danville. The home has a formal sitting area, eat-in kitchen that opens to the rear balcony, and a den with a fireplace that opens onto a rear patio area. The Foyes currently have two openings.

 

The home is located within minutes of many community activities, including shopping and eating out. In addition, the home is located on a nice street for walking.

 

Sherrie has a degree as a Respiratory Therapist and will be the primary provider for this service. Garry works for a company in North Carolina and is a back-up worker for this service. They both enjoy riding bikes on the trail in Danville, shopping, reading, vacationing, watching movies, eating out, arts and crafts, family gatherings, as well as a variety of other activities.

Mike Vercellino has provided services to individuals with Intellectual disabilities and dual diagnoses for more than ten years.  He seeks to empower individuals to attain their goals and highest quality of life while providing supports for all areas of need including: community involvement, visits with family members, help with personal care, development of independent living skills, and ensuring health and medical needs are met.  Mike’s home boasts plenty of acreage and opportunities for cookouts, quiet walks, back-porch sitting, as well as other country-living activities. It is conveniently located between Lynchburg and Danville, just off of route 29, and minutes from the Gretna Emergency Room.

Henry Fitzgerald lives in Pittsylvania County in a very nice and quiet subdivision approximately 10 to 15 minutes from Danville retail stores, restaurants and medical facilities. The house sits on almost an acre of land with good size front and back yards that are well kept by the owner. A large deck is attached to the back of the house. This 3,300 square foot, split-level home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large kitchen and two common areas. There are no animals on the property.

 

Provider, Henry Fitzgerald has many years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities. He is also a former high school teacher and coach.

Valerie Cooper, her husband Armando, and their daughter Sierra live in a four bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom home in Danville. Their house has a fully furnished basement and is located minutes from the Danville Regional Medical Center and the YMCA, which is equipped with cardio machines, a swimming pool, and many other amenities for use by potential residents. Valerie and Sierra have been providers for Wall residences for 5 years.

 

Valerie is a licensed occupational therapist who has worked with individuals with all types of disabilities. Her goal is to assist others to reach their maximum potential and to integrate individuals into the community as productive members of society. Armando has been a Spanish teacher in the community for over 15 years. Together they have many years of experience caring for young adults with behavioral issues. Valerie and Armando have successfully integrated several former foster kids into their communities as responsible, productive adults.

 

Their daughter, Sierra, holds a degree in psychology and was affiliated with Stone Wall Recreation Center which provides day support programs for the special needs population.  Sierra is a co- provider and manages the day to day operations. Their son, Armando Jr., is a backup worker for this service. The Coopers look forward to opening their home to an additional individual.

Angela and Leroy White live in a three-story house in Locust Grove, Virginia. They have two sons, Leroy, Jr. and Terence, who visit often. They live on four beautiful, wooded acres and the individual who chooses this home will be able to decorate their bedroom as they desire. There is one pet in the home, a black miniature poodle named Coal.

 

Angela is a Certified Medical Assistant and is capable of handling medical issues.

 

The Whites are very active in church and love to help the community. Their home is located minutes from the Wilderness Historical Battlefield, the Community Golf Course, the Locust Grove Community Library, and Walmart.

 

The Whites have served an older gentleman in their home for five years. The Whites are excited about welcoming someone to their home who will become a member of their family.

The Bradshaws live in a spacious four-bed, two-and-a-half-bath home in a quiet neighborhood in Spotsylvania County. The home has wonderful features such as a sunroom on the main level and a finished movie room in the basement. They have three children, one of whom is currently away at college.

 

They are an active family and enjoy sporting events, travelling to their timeshare at Massanutten, and enjoying the amenities at Wilderness Presidential Resort nearby. There are a variety of shopping and dining options available locally at Harrison Crossing, Spotsylvania Towne Center, and Central Park.

 

Mrs. Bradshaw has 12 years’ experience providing direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities. She would like to offer someone the opportunity for independence, self-growth, and to be a valued member of their community.

Tihisha and Jerahmi Howard live in a beautiful, spacious home with their two daughters and two dogs in Spotsylvania County. Family is important to the Howards and they host extended family often. They enjoy bowling and are active members at their church. The Howards live near to a variety of shopping, dining, and recreational opportunities at Harrison Crossing, Spotsylvania Towne Center, and Central Park. The battlefield trails run behind their house and are easy to access for walking. The Howards have been valued Wall Residences Providers since 2008; they have supported a woman in their home for nine years and are hoping to welcome another individual to their family home. The person who selects this home would have a main-level bedroom and bathroom. This home is in the Rappahannock Area CSB catchment area.

 

 

Sharon Malvin -  Fredericksburg

Sharon Malvin lives in a four-bedroom home located in a quiet subdivision in Fredericksburg, Va. It is conveniently located near various retail stores, Central Park Mall and restaurants. It is a traditional style home that is surrounded by flowers and vegetable gardens in the backyard.

 

Sharon enjoys going out in the community to shop, eat, go to the movies and bowl. She also enjoys gardening, and uses many of the vegetables they grow for their meals. Those who enjoy cooking and making crafts and gardening will enjoy living in this fun and warm home.

 

Sharon currently provides service to two other males and would like to welcome one other individual into her home. The individual that chooses to make their home here will enjoy their own private bedroom that they may decorate however they like. They will also have a transportation system available for them to access a variety of community based activities.

Mari and Mike Martin would love to open their home to someone who enjoys volunteering. The Martins have a very loving home on 15 acres in Caroline County, on which they have a little hobby farm. They have goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, and a little koi fish pond with a lovely view of a larger pond. They have two big dogs that are very friendly and love to have their bellies rubbed. There is also have a sweet 12-year-old cat who, believe it or not, also loves belly rubs.

 

The Martins stay active at volunteer jobs at the homeless shelter, GO, their neighbor’s home, and at church. They enjoy going to movies, plays, restaurants, car races, drive-in movies, and boat rides. They also travel a lot out West, up North, and down South. You name it, they go, and they would love to have you come along with them. The Martins currently support one older gentleman who loves volunteering and airplane rides; especially the view from the window seat.

Clinton Smith lives in a spacious, one-level home with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It features a large family room, a living room with fireplace, an open kitchen, hard wood floors throughout, and a beautiful outside accent with a long driveway. The back of the home has an open concrete patio for BBQ, entertaining and enjoying the cool breeze.

 

Clinton’s children, two teenagers in high school and a son who graduated from college in 2016, do not live with him but visit often. Clinton served in the US Navy and has worked as a store manager in the Fredericksburg area for the past 19 years. In his role as a store manager, Clinton enjoyed the opportunity to help others with charity events, supporting people with employment and building meaningful relationships within the community.

 

Clinton enjoys outdoor activities such as walking, dining out, going to movies, the YMCA, visiting parks, and participating in local community events. His home is located close to the VRE, Southpoint Shopping Center, Loriella Park, Planet Fitness and many restaurants.

 

Clinton currently supports one gentleman in his home. He welcomes the opportunity to serve another individual and truly believes everyone should be treated fairly and equal.

 

 

LaDonna Byrd -  Stafford area

LaDonna Byrd lives in a subdivision in Stafford, Virginia with one client. Her two-story home is centrally located near recreation and shopping centers, as well as close to I-95.

 

 LaDonna has a B.S. in Family & Consumer Resources which emphasizes human development from birth to elder age, and she is also a CNA. She has experience caring for others in addition to fostering the development of organizational and management skills. She is a mother of five children ranging from ages 20 to 33 and was previously the owner of a home day care. LaDonna has been a Wall Residences provider for six years, and prior to that, was a backup provider for over two years. LaDonna has grown in her understanding of the commitment and patience it takes to provide care for individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or behavioral challenges.

 

LaDonna would like to welcome a client into her immediate and large extended family to experience the abundance of love, happiness, compassion, understanding and patience within her home. LaDonna will provide a private bedroom, with doors that lock and to be decorated to the individual’s personal preference, activity room equipped with TV, kitchen and family room all on the main level. There is also a large porch with a porch swing and chairs, and a deck in the back for barbecuing and relaxing.

 

LaDonna offers a person centered service, where individual choice is valued and respected. An individual can be an active participant in the community, if they so choose. Her lifestyle is active, fulfilling and is balanced with opportunities for relaxation. LaDonna’s home is non-smoking, wheelchair accessible, and pets are negotiable.

Asia Garcia lives with her husband and 2 children in their spacious 7-bed, 3.5-bath home in Hampton, Virginia. Asia has her master’s degree in education and has 21 years of experience working as a special education teacher. She has 5-years’ experience providing Sponsored Residential services in her home. She is passionate about supporting people who live with developmental disabilities to have a life like ours. Asia currently supports one gentleman in her home.

 

Mrs. Garcia and her family enjoy being active in their community. They enjoy spending time together going to sporting events such as baseball games and visiting Virginia Tech to see her son play football. They also enjoy bowling, playing bingo in the community, and visiting Newport News park. There are many local parks, recreational opportunities, shopping, and dining options available in the area.

 

Someone choosing this home would have a bedroom on the first floor. The home is pet-friendly; the Garcia’s have a French Mastiff. Asia looks forward to providing someone with supports they need to achieve a high level of independence.
