Chancie has experience working as a Direct Support Professional in a shift-based Group Home. She has also supervised a mentor program through the local CSB, worked in mental health supports, and as a Support Coordinator. Chancie has a strong understanding of what the Provider role entails, and ways to support Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

She shares that her family loves attending Church and having Sunday family dinners. The family also enjoys sports, animals, going on hikes, picnics, spending time at the park, and taking rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Chancie is well connected to her local community, providing her a strong support network and an opportunity for the individual who moves in to be integrated into their community.

She resides with her husband Justin, their 6-year-old son, and their very friendly dog. Chancie has a daughter in college who resides in the home during holidays and summer breaks. They also have two other adult children who often visit.

Chancie is a firm believer in teamwork and advocacy, which has helped her in providing person-centered supports throughout the years. Chancie reports that becoming a DSP in the Group Home has solidified that her calling is to be a Provider in her own home and make a difference in the lives of others. She identifies care giving to be her calling and has strong relationships with family, friends, and the local community.
