Sharon Jennings comes to Wall Residences with extensive background knowledge and training in working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She was employed as a special education teacher within the public schools for 17 years until recently when she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Prior to becoming an LPN and schoolteacher, Ms. Jennings was in the military. She is the mother of two adult men that live in Blacksburg and attend Virginia Tech University, with whom she is very close. Ms. Jennings’ home has two available vacancies.

Ms. Jennings leads an active lifestyle, attending many sporting events and would like to support someone that wants to be active in the community. She reported she would like to take the individuals along with her in her travels to expand their knowledge of the world. Sharon also likes to shop, dine out, and attend local festivals. Sharon resides alone with her pet dog. She has a strong understanding of person-centered supports and is prepared to offer this to the individuals living in her home. She is excited to offer opportunities for individuals to have meaningful lives within their home and community.

The home is nestled in a quiet upscale cul-de-sac within minutes of shopping, restaurants, and about 10 minutes to the nearest hospital. The home has two stories with a full walk-out basement on a gently sloping lot. Upon entry, there is a formal living room, formal dining, and stairs leading to the second level. There is a short hall with a half bath leading to the rear of the home which has a family room with a gas fireplace, a large kitchen with an island, a sunroom leading to a patio, a laundry room, and entry to the garage. On the second level are three large bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a primary suite with another full bathroom.
