Sharon gained experience supporting individuals with disabilities through her work with the Wall Residences’ community engagement program and years working as a backup worker in a Sponsored Residential service.

Sharon and her husband have enjoyed living in a rural area just outside of the town of Amherst for 8 years. Their three-story home offers mountain views and streams. It is perfect for someone who is looking for a tranquil setting. The landscaping is beautiful and there is access to a creek on their two acres of property. There is one small dog in the house, and goats, chickens, and ducks live in the yard. Sharon and Joseph especially enjoy working outdoors, gardening, and attending to their animals. The individual in this service will be provided opportunities to go to the beach and to baseball games in Lynchburg, among other fun local and regional outings.

Shopping and other recreational activities are available in both the town of Amherst and Lynchburg. The closest hospital is in Lynchburg. Sharon and Joseph are looking forward to the opportunity to provide a caring and loving environment to two individuals who have minimal ambulation needs.
