Kim Story has three adult children and three grandchildren. As a mother, Kim has gained the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a residential service with the appropriate patience, nurturing, and care. Kim offers assistance and encouragement to the individuals she currently supports, with lots of opportunities for self-expression. Kim has a positive attitude and is comfortable with opening her home to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Kim has been a residential service provider with Wall Residences for over 10 years and has over 15 years of experience working with individuals with cognitive and medical disabilities. Kim has five years of medical experience including three years of nursing school and working in the medical field.
Kim lives in a two-level home in a quiet neighborhood in Forest. The home has numerous rooms with plenty of space to support individuals comfortably. There is a large yard and shopping, dining, a library, churches, volunteer activities, and many other community activities are close by.
Kim is active in the community. She loves animals and likes taking vacations which include frequent trips to Smith Mountain Lake. Kim also enjoys family gatherings, attending sporting events, and church activities. An individual joining this active family atmosphere will have many opportunities to take part in activities in the community. This service is person-centered and family-based, with a focus on each person’s individuality.
