Robert & Maxine Harris live in a five bedroom home with their Yorkipoo dog named Ziggy. The home has a large back deck surrounded by trees offering a beautiful landscape for relaxation and fun. The family has hosted many 4th of July picnics after attending the annual Prince William Parade in Dale City. They are active members of their church. The Harrises have two grown daughters who visit the home often.
Maxine Harris has a BS Degree in Psychology and has worked in the field for over fifteen years servicing area adults and children with a dual diagnosis of ID/DD and mental health. Robert has a Masters Degree in Business and has also worked with adults and children in behavioral health and disability. Robert and Maxine have experience working as house parents in a group home setting in Bristow, Virginia. The Harrises recently achieved their Sponsored Residential Hybrid Group Home License. Their service and supports are rooted in offering person-centered supports and activities tailored to the individual needs of each client, as well as fostering individual growth, autonomy, and personal responsibility within group activities. Everyone will be challenged to strive to become the best version of themselves as they work towards increased independence, becoming more active members of their community as good citizens.
Robert & Maxine Harris have worked with individuals with disabilities for over 11 years and particularly enjoy working with those interested in developing relationships in a family setting. Their service is dedicated to helping individuals live a good life while working on coping skills, finding a job, and building relationships in the community.
