Nancy has been a Direct Support Professional for nearly a decade and has experience working as a back-up worker for five years prior. She has worked with the ID/MH population for over 30 years in many areas of this field including respite settings, group homes, supportive apartment living, prevocational programs, ICF, and day programs. Nancy is a huge advocate of person centeredness and ensuring that individuals with intellectual disabilities have a “life like ours”. Nancy has supported the current individual in her home for nine years and supported another individual for seven years in which they lived together for that time.

Her son, Zach resides in the home with Nancy and brings several years of back up worker experience and became a DSP within the past year. Before working in the field Zachary did volunteer work for adults with ID and MH. Nancy is single and heavily involved in her church. She has many interests including photography, interior design, classic movies, and getting together with her friends and family. She is an animal lover and has an interest in taking care of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Zach loves books and anime, works at a local library as a librarian, and is currently writing a novel. In addition to her son, Nancy’s home is shared with her nine-year-old black lab mix and two three-year-old cats.
