Meredith Kapalka is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), licensed to practice behavior analysis in the state of Virginia by the VA Board of Medicine. In addition to post-graduate education in the specialized area of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), her educational background includes both a graduate and undergraduate degree in Psychology of Child and Adolescent Development. Her hands-on experience has enabled her to gain certifications as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP), Qualified Developmental Disability Professional (QDDP), and Qualified Mental Health Professional for Adults and Children (QMHP-A, QMHP-C) through the Virginia Department of Health Professions. Areas of professional development have extended from experience within the school environment as both a Therapeutic Day Treatment (TDT) Counselor and School-based Clinician, to experience working in the community with children and adolescents identified as at-risk and in residential facilities with individuals with intellectual disabilities. Her professional and educational experiences and achievements in both the mental and behavioral health fields have positioned her to provide and oversee high-quality services and trainings in working in a variety of environments with individuals of varying age and diagnosis, including, but not limited to, Autism, depression, anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). Most recently, Meredith has been working to disseminate the field of behavior analysis within Southwest Virginia through development and provision of professional and community trainings as well as on-site consultations and collaborations with professionals of other fields.
