Angela Newman brings over 20 years of experience in the field of Developmental Services to her position as Residential Regional Coordinator. Angela started her career as a direct support professional for a group home operated in Pennsylvania, working as a paraprofessional in the school system in North Carolina and as a residential counselor at a Crisis Stabilization Program operated by a Community Services Board in Virginia. Following graduation with a degree in Human Servies and a Minor in Special Education, Angela worked as a Group Home Manager for 6 years operated by a Community Services Board before joining Wall Residences. Angela has been with Wall Residences for over 10 years and served within the capacity of Program Manager, Regional Program Coordinator and Quality Assurance Coordinator prior to transitioning into her current role as the Residential Regional Director for the Eastern Division.

Her expertise includes communications planning, advertising design & placement, social media, and event coordination. She is a firm believer in collaborative work and lifting the importance of every life. Angie is excited to spread the word about the value of Wall Residence’s high quality person-centered care for both Direct Support Providers and those receiving support. Angie holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the Scripps College of Communication at Ohio University.

Ashea received her bachelor’s degrees in Women/Gender Studies and English from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist certificate from Stratford University. She possesses over a decade of experience working in various areas of the human services field including residential services, community mental/behavioral health treatment, community-based sex offender treatment, therapeutic mentoring, and crisis intervention/stabilization. She also served two terms on a Local Human Rights Committee in the Greater Richmond Area. Ashea is very passionate about advocacy, education, understanding and supporting individuals with disabilities and their family.

She has over 25 years of experience providing services to people of all ages and types of disabilities. Prior to becoming a Program Manager, she worked with youth with disabilities in school and college settings, in therapeutic foster care and at a Center for Independent Living. Barb is excited to continue providing person-centered services to individuals with disabilities, their families and their providers in the New River Valley.
