Shakira has been an advocate of the Human Service profession since she can remember. As the daughter of a Direct Support Professional, Shakira became passionate about the field at an early age. This passion led her to attend Mary Baldwin University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Social Work. Shortly after, she began working as a Direct Service Professional, Program Coordinator, and Regional Head of Services of a local service provider. Feeling called to continue her experience in the field, Shakira made the transition to working with Wall Residences as a Program Manager in 2024.  In her spare time, she enjoys attending church, hanging out with her family, traveling, and practicing photography. She is excited to be a part of the team, and eager to make a difference in her new role!
